Description
A chilly scene of the Old Pier at Salisbury Beach, MA. The wooden pier posts are dripping with icicles and frost as the huge waves approach, and an off-shore wind is shearing the tops off of the incoming waves.

What a wonderful capture! The misty spray emanating from the top wave makes for a remarkable photograph. And the icicles and snow on the pier and pilings make it really special.
Betty Denise replied:
Thank you so much David! I am always intrigued when the wind blows the top of the waves. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :-)

I love the uniqueness of this photo, the waves are powerful yet the old post stand resolute against their force and the ice
Betty Denise replied:
Thank you very much Laurie! This is one of my all-time favorite images. I love the windswept waves.

Betty, this is a beautiful image; you have captured the waves so well, and I love the pier. Just gorgeous! l/f
Betty Denise replied:
Thank you so much Elizabeth for your kind words and l/f! This is one of my all-time favorites as the pier is no longer there, but is a fond memory of days past.

I both hate this and love it. I love it that you caught it before it was gone and hate it that its gone... Really beautiful
Betty Denise replied:
I hear you Jeff! So many places that I've photographed over the years are now gone. It's so sad to see history disappearing in front of my eyes.
